ball movement…

I’ve been caught up lately with the NBA games right now that I almost missed the Australian Open.  Well, it’s kinda hard to choose which one to watch between two of my favorite sports.

Anyway, since the start of the Aussie Open, None of my fave players have bitten the dust yet.  Although there were already some disappointments on the way [Hewitt and Ivanovic losing in the 1st round].  I guess i’ll be rooting for the same guys this year also.

For the men, my bet in reaching the finals is ROGER FEDERER and NOVAK DJOKOVIC.  For the women, and all Belgian final between KIM CLIJSTERS and JUSTINE HENIN.  Im also rooting for RAFAEL NADAL to win another Grand Slam and slowly catch up to Federer’s record.  Also, I’m hoping to see JELENA JANKOVIC win her first solo Grand Slam.

I do hope none of my bets lose this week and will make it to the second week of the tournament.  It is no fun to watch the games when the players you are rooting for are already eliminated.

As for the NBA, I can’t wait for the All-Star Games which will be this February.  I can’t wait to see the dunk contest with Blake Griffin [highlight reel!!!!].

  1. Gutsy call there with your men`s winners but I have to disagree. I think that Roger Federer’s match against Gilles Simon just proved once again the Federer is pretty much finished from being a real contender. When did he ever blow a 2 set lead before? It just didn’t happen and I think it does not bode well for the future. Nadal is playing like Federer used to and he is just as healthy ever. As you point out another straight sets victory, he is now dominant on clay and has finally gotten the US Open title. I don’t think there is anything stopping him. I’m just looking forward for some more play and I’m sure you are too. Sadly I have school so I’m not home too much during the day to watch most of the matches, but there’s still late night lol. Sad janko is gone too, love his style. Also, you think you could check out my blog cuz I’d really love to hear what you have to say. http://chrisross91.wordpress.com/2011/01/19/federer-express-delivering-no-more/

    • Yeah, I also believe that Federer is not as strong as he was before, but I still think it’s too early to count him out. He still produces excellent tennis and if he keeps it up, winning another Grand Slam trophy is possible.

As for Rafa, he really is an amazing player. I think he will eventually break Fed Ex record. He has greatly improved his game from being a clay-court specialist to now being able to play competitive tennis on any surface. No doubt about it, he will eventually break Fed Ex records.
